Wednesday 29th July - Swimming & Snapbacks

Today was our first day of R&R and a chance to explore Ohio a bit more and acclimatise. After a quick swim in the pool we headed to the range to touch base with the GB Palma team and check out the shops up Commercial Row. It was unbelievably hot on the range and the team were thankful that they weren’t shooting in it just yet!

Shopping was the planned activity for the day and probably a good thing too as the 35 degree heat on the range and in the car was starting to become uncomfortable whereas an air-conditioned shopping mall seemed much more appealing. After a short drive to the Franklin Park Mall in Toledo we set about stocking up on toiletries, elbow supports and Under Armour for shooting. The majority of the team ended up at “Lids” trying lots of hats, spending lots of money and getting their new snapbacks embroidered as a memento of the tour.

After spending 4 hours inside a shopping mall and expecting it to still be baking hot it was a bit of a surprise to walk outside and be standing in torrential rain in the middle of a thunderstorm (no change to the humidity though)! A rather raucous trip back to the hotel in Bus 1 saw them sampling a mixture of S Club 7, One Direction and Frozen and singing each song as loudly as possible! Once back we headed out to the shops and bought food and supplies before shooting started on Saturday. Another long day was ended by a dinner at Waldo Pepper’s followed by most of the team heading to the local watering hole Lock, Dock & Barrel. #LoveToTour
